Homemade Montana: Baby and Kids Gift Guide

We love a good gift guide. This one, in particular, is one of our favorites. These are all products that we whole-heartedly love. They make great gifts for holidays, baby showers and birthdays, and they are all handmade with love by parents (and grandparents) in the Missoula and Bitterroot Valleys.

Clothes for the Kid Who Keeps Growing: SewLo Fabric creator and mom, Lauren, not only makes adorable hats, dresses, pants and more for kids…she designs them to last! One of my favorite items is SewLo’s “Grow With Me Pants.” No joke, they the size I bought fits 9month-3T. I love that they are built with room to grow, plus the fabric she uses is super soft, extra durable and have even survived crawling on concrete (we know, we’ve tested them). Check out her Etsy Shop or follow her on Facebook to see which craft fair or market she will be at next (including the MADE Fair on December 8th!).

Longlasting Toys for All Ages: D and Me Toys in Stevensville has been building wood toys (and quilts) since the 1970s. Their fleet of trains, trucks, cars and more are adorable and virtually indestructible. Our favorites include the logging truck and bulldozer, but they have so many fun toys to check out. They are beautifully crafted and made to last. We have treasured each of the toys we have gotten from D and Me, and they have held up to some pretty rough indoor and outdoor play. Order online through their website, or stop by and see them at the Holiday MADE Fair December 8th.

The Softest Baby Blanket that New Parents Will Love: Field and Sage’s blankets made by Shelby are the softest, most luxurious minky fabric you will find. Plus, she has a huge variety of hip prints that will match any nursery. You can find some of her blankets at the store Imagination Station in downtown Missoula or visit her Etsy shop for blankets, crib sheets, pants, drool bibs and more! You can also see lots of her great inventory at Little Red Truck’s Vintage European Market happening this weekend December 6th and 7th!

Footwear for Littles: The adorable leather soft-soled booties, loafers and moccs made by Starry Night Designs are a must have. With sizes for infants all the way to four year olds, they are cute, hip and most importantly , functional. The sewn in elastic helps keep baby socks on, and the soft leather helps with balance and traction as kids start walking. They also last forever! Our first pair was a hand me down from a friend, and they have survived four different children over the last nine years. Whether you are looking for classic neutral color, or funky animal designs, they have options for every outfit. Available for purchase locally at Hazel & Fawn, at the December 8th Holiday MADE Fair, or on their website here.
