Kid Covid-19 Vaccines Are Available: Where to Go

Pfizer is unrolling a Covid-19 vaccine safe enough for kids, and with Center for Disease Control and Prevention approval, vaccines are now available for kids in Missoula.

The low-dose version of adult vaccines are aimed at kids 5-11.

Missoula County Public School families received an email today about their vaccine clinic, aimed at getting kids in this age group vaccinated. Here’s the details:

WHEN: Nov. 12 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: MCPS Admin Building A at 909 South Ave. West
ADDITIONAL INFO: Second dose clinics will be Dec. 3 and 4 at the same location.

“We recognize this is a family decision, and we encourage families to reach out to their children’s pediatrician or health care provider or the health department with any questions or concerns around the vaccine,” an email from the school reads.

For children who do not belong to MCPS or parents who want their children to be vaccinated sooner, there are several other options available.

Nationwide pharmacy chains like Walgreens and CVS are scheduling child Covid-19 vaccines. Simply fill out the form with the participants’ location and date of birth to start the process of scheduling.

The Health Service Pharmacy in the Curry Health Center on the University of Montana campus is offering pediatric vaccines at the walk-in clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
