many businesses and organizations are doing their best to provide safe activities an events to our community. because remaining safe during the pandemic is our utmost priority, we’re providing you with a variety of in-person and at home events in our community.

Monday, September 20:

  • 3:30pm Lego Club at the Missoula Public Library

    Lego Club is back! Build to your heart’s content every Monday afternoon in the level 2 programming room. Drop by anytime from 3:30-5 PM and create fantastic Lego structures! Masks required at the Missoula Public Library

Tuesday, September 21:

  • 9:30am Stroller Strides at Toole Park

    Stroller Strides® is a functional, total-body conditioning workout designed for moms with kids in tow. Each 60-minute workout is comprised of strength training, cardio and core restoration, all while entertaining little ones with songs, activities and fun! Each Stroller Strides instructor is skilled to meet you where you are mentally and physically. You’ll leave class feeling connected, successful and energized! No more mama guilt! This class is all about self care in a supportive and encouraging environment.

  • 10:30am Preschool Play Group at Roots Acro Sports

    Preschool Play Group (Walking Through age 5), Every Tuesday and Friday from 10:30-11:30

  • 6:30 Teen Tuesday at Painting with a Twist

    Choose your colors for your Chucks! Instruction is guided and supplies are provided. Class is open to ages 13 and up! Registration required

Wednesday, September 22:

  • 3:30pm-5:00pm Middle School Writers Group

    Want to start writing or already writing like crazy? We share poems, stories, novels, and writing games. This group is free, meets all year long, and is good for kids in grades 6 through 9. Depending on Covid, we will likely be alternating Zoom meetings with live meetings in the Ellingson Room on level 3. Teens can always join by Zoom simultaneously even when we meet live. Thursday, September 23:

  • 10:30am-11:00am Tiny Tales at Missoula Public Library😷

    Tiny Tales uses sounds, rhythms, and movement to help your child learn to read! Participants will sing songs, learn finger-plays and nursery rhymes, and hear stories. Presented by various Youth Services staff. Join us for live Tiny Tales every Thursday and Friday at 10:30 AM in the Level Two Programming Room. Tiny Tales will be recorded and posted online at a later date on the library’s official website and YouTube channel.

  • 2:00pm Celebrate 6th Grade with the YMCA

    Hey 6th graders! Grab your friends and stop by the YMCA on Thursday, September 23, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. for our FREE Active 6 Kick Off!
    Meet new friends and enjoy activities like rock climbing, Gaga Ball, and Sizzle Ball as we explore all that the Y has to offer. We’ll also be making fun snacks—homemade smoothies and veggie quesadillas! This event is free and open to all Missoula area 6th graders. Active 6 offers free YMCA membership and after school activities to all Missoula area 6th graders. Learn more at ymcamissoula.org.

  • 3:00 You’re an Engineer at the Missoula Public Library

    Join your friends in the 2nd floor Program room to build and create with Legos, oversized Building Blocks and our Rig-a-ma-Jig. The Rig-a-ma-Jig is a set of wooden planks with pulleys, oversized nuts and bolts, and screws. Enjoy your own free building time or join in our building challenges. 3:00-5:00 PM Masks are required at the Missoula Public Library

  • 7:00pm Centerfield Cinema: Clue

    The Missoula PaddleHeads, in conjunction with The Roxy Theater have announced a partnership to host Centerfield Cinema, a movie series at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. Stadium gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m Clue: Based on the popular board game, this comedy begins at a dinner party hosted by Mr. Boddy (Lee Ving), where he admits to blackmailing his visitors. These guests, who have been given aliases, are Mrs. Peacock (Eileen Brennan), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), Mr. Green (Michael McKean), Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn) and Col. Mustard (Martin Mull). When Boddy turns up murdered, all are suspects, and together they try to figure out who is the killer.

Friday, September 24:

  • Missoula Public Library Events

    10:00am Makerspace open hours - Open Hours allows library users to explore the equipment and resources of the Makerspace

    10:30am Family Story Time & Tiny Tales 😷- Story Time is for children ages 3 and older and their caregivers. Join us on Fridays and Saturdays at 10:30 AM for stories and fun in the Art Box on level two. Story Time will be recorded and posted online at a later date on the library’s official website and YouTube channel. The theme for this week’s Story Time is Talk Like a Pirate.

Saturday, September 25:

  • 1:00pm National Public Lands Day - volunteer opportunities

    National Public Lands Day Rattlesnake Creek Dam Restoration Site September 21 & 25
    Join the Missoula Conservation Lands Program and lend a hand to the continued restoration of the former rattlesnake creek dam site. Volunteers will assist in planting native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers. Come get your hands dirty for a good cause: not only helping to re-wild a former industrial site, but also improving water quality, providing wildlife habitat, and contributing to a climate-resilient community and ecosystem. Multiple days and times available. Registration is
    encouraged. Plant Native Trees for Restoration Saturday September 25 Saturday is National Public Lands Day, the nation’slargest single-day volunteer event for public lands. Come celebrate your public lands by joining the Conservation Lands Program in planting native trees and shrubs to help restore the former Rattlesnake Creek dam site.

Sunday, September 26:

  • 12:00 Missoula Safe Kids Drive Thru Fair

    Join us at this year’s Safe Kids Fair, where families can experience safety. Our fun-filled event has typically featured police officers, firefighters, a chance to meet Monte, and more! We will be giving away FREE food, safety activity packets, goody bags, prizes, and more! While the Safe Kids Fair offers fun for the whole family, it is about so much more than that. Our annual event provides western Montanans with life-saving education and take-action information to protect children from preventable injury – the leading cause of death for children in the U.S. and here in Montana. This is an issue that we all can, and must, address head-on.

  • 10:00am-2:00pm Orienteering at Lubrecht Forest

    Come try orienteering - the sport of navigating through terrain with a map and a compass - at Lubrecht Experimental Forest outside of Greenough on Sunday, September 19th between 10am-2pm. Beginner instruction will be provided, as will all necessary equipment. The event is free of charge for first-timers and affordable to returning participants. It is open to all ages and experience levels.

  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm ReStyle’s $10 Bag Sale Event at Playfair Park

    ReStyle has collected thousands of items from our awesome customers that are mainly name brand and in good condition. We lay out all the items into their clothing category (ex. pants, shoes, coats etc.) The items are mixed by size because there are literally THOUSANDS!! The majority of the items are teen girl & women's, with some men's & tons of accessories & shoes!
    This event is a $10 stuff a bag sale! This means that for $10 (cash only), we will provide you with a standard 13 gallon bag to stuff with as many clothing items as you can fit. No limit. It’s as easy as that! And all of the money raised is donated to charity.
