While many Montana families await their school’s instructions for remote learning in light of school closures, it is a great time to bookmark online resources that go above and beyond Paw Patrol or Captain Underpants. Check out these great resources:

  1. Free Internet: Charter will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

  2. Lunch Doodles: Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks. Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons and join Mo to explore ways of writing and making together. New episodes will be posted each weekday at 1:00 p.m. ET and then remain online to be streamed afterwards. 

  3. FREE Online Educational Resources: You may have seen the original google doc floating around the internet last week, but it has grown to include links and descriptions to hundreds of websites that are free or have temporarily waived any subscription costs due to recent school closures. The list grows daily with more and more options for all ages. Stay tuned as they work on making the list searchable and with better functionalities.

  4. Tour a Virtual Museum: Thanks to the magic of Google, this list of 12 world famous museums let’s you take a look in museums all of the world.

  5. Live Visit to the Zoo: The Cincinnati Zoo will be doing a “Home Safari” Facebook Live each weekday at 3pm, starting Monday March 16. They will highlight one of their amazing animals and include an activity you can do from home.

  6. Virtual Field Trips: This list with links to 30 different field trips includes animal cams at zoos, visuals from the mars rover, and even our own Yellowstone National Park.

  7. Phone-a-story: This one is not technically online, but The Denver Public Library offers a wide range of stories for different age groups and you can listen to them as many times as you want 24/7! Dial 720-865-8500 and just follow the directions.
