Holiday Help for Moms through Mountain Home

I recently saw a post on Instagram that said something along the lines of, “All Mothers love and grieve in the same language.” This quote has been on my mind ever since. While we may feel helpless to what is going on all around the world, we can take small steps by helping right here in our little community.

As we all know, this is a joyous time of year for most, but can be a challenging time of year for some. Part of my purpose as an early childhood teacher, and now a mother, has always been to support other mothers and all families in general.

One way I do my part is by supporting Mountain Home Montana however I can, whether that be dropping off my gently used and sometimes new baby supplies that we’ve finished with, or by helping out with a holiday giving tree which I’ve done in the past at my job. Since I’m now working from home with a baby at my side, I tried to figure out a way to continue doing the giving tree. Today, it’s pretty easy to do everything over a phone or computer, so this is what I’ve come up with.

If you are unfamiliar, Mountain Home Montana is a nonprofit organization who assists young mothers by providing them with shelter, community, and support. Again, mothers love and grieve in the same language. If you are a mother, a father, a grandparent, or even someone who takes care of young children, you might understand the triumphs and challenges that come with raising babies and young children, even with a support system. Let’s lift these mothers up with Missoula strength by making sure they can get themselves and their children something special for the holidays.

Here is a link to a wishlist for ten moms (names have been changed) at Mountain Home Montana. Please message me, email me, or text me if you’d like to check something off their list. I am happy to come pick something up if it’s local, or you can send an electronic gift card.

You can also drop your gift off yourself at Mountain Home, 2606 South Ave W here in Missoula and make sure it’s labeled with the Mom’s “name” of which you are sponsoring.

Please make sure all gifts are sent or given to me, or dropped off at Mountain Home by December 14th so we have time to make sure all mothers will receive a little something.
